Editorial art direction for a printed biodiversity annual

Coldblood Press publishes a 300-page annual on reptile biodiversity — rigorous science that deserved better than stock-photo layouts. The brief: make researchers proud and make strangers pick it up.

We built the book on a duotone engine — every species plate reproduced in deep teal and bone, headlines set sentence-case and huge, data visualised as engraving-style line work. The annual reads like a naturalist's folio that happens to be typeset in 2024.
